Called to Teach. Grounded in Faith.
Our educators are not simply content experts — they are men and women who believe that teaching is a calling, and that every student is made in the image of God.

Meet Our Director

Heidi Velsen
Director, Stephenville Christian Academy
Heidi Velsen brings a lifetime of educational experience, a global background, and a sincere Christian faith to her role as Director of Stephenville Christian Academy. Born in Germany and shaped by a perspective that spans cultures and continents, Heidi has made Stephenville, Texas her home — and this community her calling.
Before joining SCA, Heidi spent years serving students and families inside Stephenville ISD, building a reputation for genuine care, high expectations, and a deep belief that every child deserves an educator who sees them fully. That classroom experience informs everything she brings to the leadership of this school.
Actively involved in her local church, she leads SCA with the conviction that a Christ-centered education shapes how we understand knowledge, human dignity, and what it means to flourish. She believes students deserve a school where academic rigor and biblical truth belong together — not in tension, but in harmony.
Her vision for SCA: a school where Stephenville families can trust that their children will be known, challenged, and loved — academically prepared for whatever God calls them toward, and spiritually rooted in the One who holds all things together.
“We exist to educate the whole child — mind, character, and spirit — within a community where faith and learning are never separated. Every student who walks through our doors is made in the image of God, and that truth changes everything about how we teach.”
