Academics
A Curriculum Built on Faith,
Excellence, and Purpose
Stephenville Christian Academy offers a comprehensive, biblically-based curriculum from Pre-K3 through 6th Grade — designed to develop the whole child and prepare students for a life of faithful, capable service.
Our Philosophy
What Guides Our Approach to Learning
Christian education is not a public school with chapel added. It is a fundamentally different approach to knowledge — one that begins with God and works outward from there. These four principles shape everything we teach and how we teach it.
Scripture as the Lens
We do not simply add Bible verses to a standard curriculum. At SCA, Scripture is the lens through which every subject is understood. Mathematics, science, history, and literature are all explored in light of who God is and what He has revealed.
Spiral Learning
SCA uses a spiral learning approach — key concepts are introduced early and revisited with greater depth at each grade level. This builds mastery over time and ensures no student moves forward on a shaky foundation.
Whole-Child Development
Academic performance matters, but it is not the whole person. SCA intentionally develops students intellectually, spiritually, socially, and emotionally — because God made each child as a complete person, not just a mind.
A Coherent Worldview
Students at SCA receive a consistent, coherent framework for understanding the world. Rather than absorbing conflicting messages from competing sources, they learn to interpret all of life and learning through a biblical lens that does not shift with culture.
Biblical Worldview
Faith Is Not a Subject.
It Is the Foundation.
At SCA we reject the idea that education can be neutral. Every curriculum, every textbook, every classroom reflects someone's assumptions about what is true, what matters, and what human beings are for. We choose to make those assumptions explicitly Christian.
That means mathematics is taught as a reflection of God's order. History is taught as the unfolding of His providence. Literature is explored in light of the human condition as Scripture describes it. Science investigates the world God made. No subject is compartmentalized away from faith — every discipline is an opportunity to know Him better.
Chapel
Regular all-school chapel services anchor the week in worship and the Word.
Scripture Memory
Students memorize Scripture from the earliest grades, building a lifelong store of God's Word.
Daily Prayer
Prayer opens and closes the school day — not as a ritual, but as a genuine practice.
Teachers Who Model Faith
Our faculty are committed Christians who disciple as well as instruct.
Curriculum Approach
Pre-K3 Through 6th Grade
SCA uses a spiral learning approach — concepts are introduced early and revisited with increasing depth at each level. Students are never rushed past a foundation before it is solid.
Foundation & Wonder
Preschool — Pre-K 3 & Pre-K 4
Our youngest learners are introduced to the world through play, story, song, and Scripture. Pre-K classrooms build early literacy, number sense, social skills, and a love for learning — all within the warmth of a Christ-centered environment where every child is known by name.

Why SCA
What Sets Our Academics Apart
Families choose SCA not despite the faith component, but because of it. A biblical worldview does not diminish academic quality — it anchors and elevates it.
Excellence Without Apology
We hold high academic standards because our students deserve to be challenged. A Christian education is not a lesser education — it is a richer one, rooted in the conviction that all truth is God's truth.
Faith and Learning Are One
Students never have to choose between their faith and their education. At SCA, the two are inseparable. Every subject is an opportunity to know God better — and every lesson is taught by someone who believes that.
Small Classes, Real Relationships
SCA's small class sizes mean teachers truly know their students. Learning happens best in an environment of trust and relationship — and that is something we protect intentionally.
Prepared for What Comes Next
Whether a student is headed to college, a trade, ministry, or entrepreneurship, SCA graduates are equipped with the intellectual skills, spiritual grounding, and personal character to flourish.
